Peter Overholser will review Gross's tropical description of mirror symmetry for P2 and explain how its structures can be expanded to yield new tropical invariants.

I will attempt to give an overview of the Gross-Siebert program, emphasizing its guiding principles and their connection to the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow conjecture.
